National Orthodontic Health Month

October is National Orthodontic Health Month! October is also a time when great fall festivities take place, including pumpkin patches and trick-or-treating. Trick-or-treating definitely brings back wonderful childhood memories for most of us. We all remember the excitement of collecting candy and then trading with your friends for your favorite items. Unfortunately, these treats can cause damage that may prolong treatment time. However, just because you’re in braces doesn’t mean you can’t have fun on Halloween! There are many brace-friendly options out there, should you choose to consume sweets and candy. Many online resources are available that contain great recipes for those yummy treats we all love and they’re brace-friendly too!

The Original Greek Festival

Tomorrow marks the beginning of 44th Original Greek Festival, a four day event that happens in Houston once a year. This is one of my favorite events in town, which I wait for each year! I greatly enjoy sampling authentic Greek foods and enjoying all the festivities in the wonderful Museum District. Did I mention that all the food is homemade? Some of my favorites include the gyro, spanakopita, and dolmades. Come see for yourself what I am raving about! OPA!!!
